About US

Valarie was born and raised in Americus, a small town in rural South Georgia. She has always had a passion for English and Literature. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. 

Valarie began her career as an educator at Staley Middle School teaching ELA/ Writing to scholars at various levels. She earned her gifted endorsement in 2013. In 2019, she transferred to the Dooly County School System, where s served as the K-8 Media Specialist until her retirement. Throughout her career,  she has served in the following capacities: Department Chairperson-7 years, Team Leader for 2 years, District Writing to Win Trainer for 2 years, School Testing Team, School and District Spelling Bee Coordinator for 12 years, School Leadership Team, Superintendent's Cabinet,  Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement -Graduate , Summer Leadership and Curriculum Academy with Debbie Craven, and a Presenter at Georgia Middle School Association Conference,  Most importantly a teacher to thousands of students.

  In 2013,  Valarie became the mother of Brandon Levi Bridges and has vowed to “raise a great and powerful man”. As a mother and son duo,  they have faced all odds and continue to build a legacy of love, strength, and excellence. “Good Morning, Levi”, is the first book in their  “Levi and Me” series, which is a collection of motivational books for African American boys. 

Education is her passion, and she especially loves fostering a love of reading and writing in young minds. She has been selected as the STAR teacher four times. Valarie has also received 2 Golden Apple Teacher awards from graduating seniors. 

Levi's Studio, LLC was founded in 2021 as a creative space for Valarie and her son to share their passion for learning and literacy with teachers and students around the world.
